BURGHILL, Tillington and Weobley came out on top in a high-scoring T20 Herefordshire Senior Cup game against Bartestree & Lugwardine.

Records kept tumbling all day long.  Batting first, Burghill’s South African Overseas player Reece Thomas smashed 198 runs off 70 balls, with 19 fours and 18 sixes.

His century came up off 36 balls, with 8 fours and 11 sixes.  Beautifully lofted cover and straight drives were interspersed, with the ball being muscled over for six.

The home side finished on 280-4.

In reply the Tree’s put up a fight and finished on 227-9.  Captain Ryan Trattell thumped 81 off 38 balls, with 12 fours and 4 sixes.

Earlier Matt Tulacz smacked 35 off 17 balls and young Elliot Gale played a stylish innings of 29 off 22 balls.

The Burgs ran out winners by 53 runs to top the group, which also includes Bromyard.
