YOUNG Hereford Pegasus forward Cawley Cox has caught the eye of teams in leagues above after an impressive season in the Hellenic Premier.
Cox, aged 20, was named players-player as well as top goal-scorer for the second year running at Hereford Pegasus annual presentation.
In only his second full season of adult football Cox was only beaten to the top goal-scorer for the whole Uhlsport Hellenic Premier league by Kyle Belmonte of league winners Worcester City - who have now been promoted.
Unsurprisingly teams from several leagues above are watching Cox to see how he progresses.
Cox scored for Merthyr Town in their 6-1 friendly victory against Taffs Wells on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Westfields held higher-graded Malvern Town to a 1-1 draw at allpay Park on Tuesday night.
James Hancocks gave Fields a first half lead before Mason Godsall fired over for the hosts and Brandon Jennings had an effort cleared off the line.
However, Malvern came back into the match forcing goalkeeper Kieron Blackburn into action before Jack Watts equalised.
Hereford Pegasus also drew 1-1 at Chepstow Town in midweek with Carlos Moreira seeing his sixth minute penalty cancelled out.
