CAM Haines added another title to his collection when he clinched the Mike Lane Trophy at Ross Golf Club.

The annual blue-ribbon event for handicap category division 1 men members is played over 36 holes on consecutive days on a gross medal basis in honour of the late Mike Lane, a highly accomplished and fondly remembered former Ross Club Men's Champion.

Haines carded two rounds of Gross 70 and 75 scores to win the trophy by a convincing six shots.

Since Haines joined the Ross Club in 2014 as a 16-handicap teenager his progress has been thanks to his dedicated approach and the Ross Juniors Academy.

Haines capture many titles including being crowned Men's Club Champion in four of the past seven years.

Darryn Couperwaite a six-handicap player with a combined 151 medal score performed impressively to finish runner-up followed by Tim Wyatt and William Turpin with combined 153 scores, Jon Moody with 154 and Harry Griffiths and Alex Duncanson with 155's.

For the best net handicap performers, the same two rounds format enabled members to compete for the Traders Cup.

Haines with a net 69 score led the way after round one with his excellent net 70 score from another young player and now a six handicapper Isaac Vitale and Peter Smith with net 70's followed by Richard Tullett, William Turpin, Tim Kefalas and Paul Dobbs with nett 71 scores.

In being the best performer in round two with a net 67 which included three birdies, Darryn Couperwaite came from behind to win the Traders Cup by three shots from Richard Tullett with net 142.

Other players who will be particularly pleased with their round two performances were Seb Warwick net 68 and Kevin Howells and Andy Stephens who each carded net 69 scores.
