BURGHILL, Tillington and Weobley thirds took a convincing win in the GB Liners Marches Division Three following a huge knock of 131 by opener Mark Preece.
Opponents Dales won the toss and elected to bat but were restricted to 198-9 off their 40 overs thanks to some tight bowling and fielding by the Burgs.
There were two wickets apiece for Gavin Pugh, George Stevenson and Noah Morgan. Rising 13-year-old stars Oscar Bescoby (1-36) off his 8 overs and although wicket less, Mo Mohid bowled his eight overs for 37 runs, half at the top order.
Captain Craig Lane stood down to give Preece a chance batting at the top of the order.
Joining him at the top of the order was youngster Kieran Dover, the perfect foil for the belligerent Preece.
Together they put on 135 runs in 19 overs for the first wicket, before Dover was out for a studious 32.
There was no way back for Dales after such an aggressive start. The runs were knocked off for the loss of five wickets in 27.2 overs with Preece top scoring with 129 in 85 balls, including 16 fours and five sixes.
Burghill, Tillington and Weobley firsts saw their match at Himley seconds abandoned, while chasing a target of 202-7.
Accurate bowling and good catching, restricted Himley, despite half centuries for captain Matt Bowen (78) and Dominic Taylor (50).
Spinner AJ Morris, aged 17, picked up three wickets and there were two apiece for Reece Thomas and Mohammed Hassan.
Chasing, the weather brought proceedings to a halt with the Burgs on 21-2.
Brockhampton also saw their home game against Stourport-on-Severn abandoned after setting a target of 224.
Tom Austwick stop scored for the Herefordshire hosts with 63 and George Mokler scored 42 off 59 balls.
Bromyard were bowled out for 95 before their match at Old Elizabethans was also rained off.
