FOLLOWING the exploits of the Open Championship, Leominster Golf Club are holding a Charity Golf day in aid of ECHO.
The list of 20 teams is rapidly filling up but there are still a few spaces for teams of four to compete on Friday, August 2.
It costs £20 per player and whilst there is not a Claret Jug for the winning team there will be prizes available from the club shop.
ECHO is also offering organisations or individuals the opportunity to sponsor one of the holes at the cost of £100.
Organisers would like to thanks Minster Auctions, Sterling Networks, Full Fibre and Leominster Motors who have so far taken on sponsorship but ECHO would welcome other enquiries.
Penny Weir, ECHO’s Fundraising Officer, who has organised the event in partnership with Leominster Golf Club said: “We are delighted to have been given the opportunity to hold this new event at this wonderful gold club in Leominster.
“Many, many thanks all the sponsors, teams and everyone at the golf club. All money raised will help continue the work of ECHO to support disabled people across the County”.
ECHO is an independent, Herefordshire-based charity with over 230 members and over 90 volunteers. Their main office is in Leominster but they have projects run in many community based venues.
ECHO provides the chance to learn new skills in a supportive, friendly environment which includes sports, arts and crafts, drama, social events and work or volunteering activities.
For more information about the day, entering a team or becoming a sponsor, contact Penny Weir by email at penny.weir@echoherefordshire.co.uk or ring the ECHO office on 01568 620307.
This could be your first step towards the 2025 Open Championship at Royal Portrush, Northern Ireland.
