A HEREFORD squash star has added another international title to his collection.
Tom Burton, of Hereford Squash Tennis & Racketball Centre, has won the men’s squash over-65 gold medal at the Pan American Masters Games in Cleveland, Ohio.
The event featured athletes from more than 70 nationalities and participants competed in 24 medal-contending sports, including squash .
In the semi-final, Burton met the British Open semi-finalist Bruce Gordon from New York, winning 3- 0 11-8 11-6 11-4.
In the final, Burton played the current USA champion Steven Baicker-Mckee from Pittsburg.
The Hereford star lost the first two tightly contested games before coming back to level the match at 2-2.
The final game was nip and tuck with Burton saving a match ball before winning 12-10. The game lasted over 45 minutes, and the scores were 9-11, 8- 11, 11-8, 11-8, 12-10.
