ROSS-ON-Wye Golf Club’s lady captain recently held her away day at Droitwich Golf Club.
In perfect summer weather, thirty-one ladies joined Lorraine to play in a fun Bowmaker competition.
The winners of the competition were Kim Williams, Ellie Teasdale and Nicky Stannard with Rosemary Williams, June Savidge and Joyce Mackley in second place.
Nearest the pin in two on the 15th hole was Nadia Stirling and nearest the pin on the 18th was June Savidge.
At county level, Hannah Keir and Kerry Welding are representing Ross in the Watson Williams County Scratch Foursomes and have successfully won their first round.
Helen Palmer and Kerry Welding are also though to the third round of the County Foursomes.
Some 46 women representing 16 different clubs played in the Eclectic Open Competition.
The format of two rounds of 13 holes with lunch in between. The winners with a nett score of 39 were Nadia Stirling with her partner Julie Currie from Cleobury Mortimer. Kerry Welding and her partner Emma Brereton from Cirencester won the gross prize.
In the Daily Mail Club Foursomes it was Jeanette Forrester and Victoria Northcott who came first with 37 points on countback from Sally Fycun and Nadia Stirling in second place, and Wendy Ancrum and Jennifer Reeve-Tucker in third place.
In the Front 9 Club Foursomes competition Ellie Teasdale and Kim Williams came first with 21 points. Pam Duke and Christine Downs came second with 18 points and Chris Crane and Mary Palmer third with 16 points.
The July medal and Gordon Blake Cup saw Sally Fycun win the Gordon Blake Cup on countback from Victoria Northcott with a nett score of 69. Sally Lawrence came third with a nett score of 73.
In the QE11 Commemorative Trophy Stableford it was Christine Morris who came first with a score of 43 points followed by Sally Fycun in second place with 41 points and Christine Snell in third place with 40 points.
