HEREFORD Pegasus moved four points clear at the summit of the  Hellenic League Premier Division following a 4-1 win over Slimbridge AFC in front of a healthy attendance of 207 spectators at the KGD Stadium.

Summer signing Isaac Cooper and Carlos Moreira both netted braces for the hosts as they maintained their good start to the campaign.

Cooper broke the deadlock on the half-hour mark when his 25 yard free-kick nestled in the corner of the net to hand the hosts.

It took until the 77th minute for the lead to be doubled when Jordan Williamson cut into the penalty area, from out on the left flank, and saw his shot parried but Moreira was on hand to head home the loose ball at the far post.

Pegasus added a third goal to their tally six minutes later when Moreira squared the ball across the face of goal for Cooper to convert at the far post.

Slimbridge reduced the deficit with three minute remaining on the clock when Jack Smith eventually found a way past the home defence.

However, Pegasus regained their three-goal buffer deep in stoppage-time when Moreira drove into his penalty area and his deflected shot arrowed in the far corner of the net to secure all three points.

Westfields got back to winning ways with a fine 2-0 away win at Lydney Town on Friday night to earn them their first Hellenic League win of the new season.
It took until after the interval for Westfields to break the deadlock when Daniel Stoneman’s cross to the far post found Cawley Cox.

Lydney were lively and twice goalkeeper Shay Sterry made close range saves to keep Westfields ahead.

However, it was Fields who completed the win when Stoneman picked out James Hancocks who chipped the Lydney keeper from 20 yards out.

First half goals from Sam Hunt and Cawley Cox earned Westfields another three points on Tuesday night when they beat Tuffley Rovers 2-1.
