A HEREFORDSHIRE youngster is following in the footsteps of his Olympian moth and making waves in the world of kayaking.

Lochie Lovell, aged 17, is a sprint and marathon kayaker and has just returned from racing in Belgium.

Lovell has had a tremendously successful summer, winning bronze at the National Marathon Championships in Reading.

He then went on to win gold, silver, and bronze medals at the National Sprint Championships in Nottingham.

Not stopping there Lovell then won two golds and one silver at the Neerpelt International Regatta in Belgium.

Most recently then teenage won two golds, two silvers, and one bronze medal at the Sobeka Flanders Cup regatta also in Belgium.

Lovell Lives in Colwall, goes to school at Royal Grammar School Worcester, and trains at Worcester Canoe Club where he is coached by him mum Rachel Lovell, a kayak Olympian.

Lovell’s younger brother Finn also competes in kayaking and raced in Belgium.
