WESTFIELDS turned on a scintillating display of football in their Hellenic League Premier clash at Brimscombe and Thrupp – running away with an 11-0 win at the Stroud-based side.
It was Fields’ highest scoring achievement at non-league step five level.
The end score-line followed a remarkable second half display, after leading 2-0 at the break through a Ben Brooks brace.
Brookes went on to get his hat-trick before experienced winger Dan Stoneman grabbed a double hat-trick including two superb free kicks.
A Cawley Cox header and a superb finish by Archie Muirhead completed a second half misery for Brimscombe and Thrupp who had no answer.
Westfields’ free-flowing attacking football resulted in a convincing 11-0 victory.
However, Fields were brought back down to earth on Tuesday night when they fell to a 1-0 home defeat against Inkberrow, with the visitors ending with nine men on the pitch.
Hereford Pegasus travelled with a youthful squad to East Staffordshire for a second round qualifying of the Isuzu FA Vase to play Midland League opponents Uttoxeter Town.
Uttoxeter scored in the 36th minute following a cross from the left headed home by Lewis Dawson.
Three minutes later Pegasus gained parity as Lucas Hipwell beat his marker before crossing into the penalty area, resulting in a handball and Carlos Moreira converted.
The visitors now had the upper hand, seven minutes before the break Harry Pitman lashed the ball into the net when the ball rebounded off the upright from a shot by Harrison Iddles.
Four minutes after the interval, Uttoxeter equalised when Jenson Kilroy made an excellent save however, the ball took a deflection and Joel Dyche headed home.
Pegasus remained the team most likely to score. They did that just before the hour mark when Pitman hit a crisp shot to regain the lead.
Pegasus continued to push to increase the advantage, Ben Tootal was denied after running onto a pass from Ty Briscoe.
Despite the hosts throwing everything forwards in the last five minutes the Hereford side held on for a 3-2 victory. Pegasus now face Market Drayton in the FA Vase first round on October 19.
Pegasus also had a Tuesday night league match to forget as they suffered a 4-1 defeat at Hartpury University.
