AFTER around 50 odd, the first major square renovation at Burghill, Tillington and Weobley Cricket Club has been undertaken.
The are thankful for funding from the Tarmac Landfill Communities Fund, via Derbyshire Environmental Trust who supplied £6,962. Some 90% of the cost of the project.
The club’s kind supporter, Rob Watkins, provided the remaining 10%.
Meanwhile, Knighton Motor Club held the Mike Hart Memorial Targa Rally in the summer in memory of their former President and Herefordshire Motorsport stalwart who sadly passed away last year after a battle with a brain tumour.
The event, based in Knighton and sponsored by Andrew Bowen Transport of Leominster, attracted 43 entries and was won by Shaun Bee from North Wales.
The rally was a huge hit with the competitors and two charities, The Brain Tumour Charity and The DPJ Foundation, a charity that supports mental health in farming have benefited with all proceeds from the day being split between them.
The event organisers and Knighton Motor Club would like to thank Andrew Bowen for his sponsorship and the farming community/landowners of Mid Wales and the Teme Valley for the use of multiple venues at no cost which made the event possible to run.
