WESTFIELDS recorded one of their best results of the season with a fine 3-0 away win at play-off side Corsham Town on Saturday.
Fields got off to a dream start when Cawley Cox slipped a lovely Through ball to Zac Powell who took the ball in his stride and blasted his side ahead with a powerful finish .
After the interval Westfields increased their lead when from a corner kick Cawley Cox was fouled and from the spot kick Ben Brooks doubled his side’s lead with a great finish.
Westfields were playing some flowing football and substitutes Archie Muirhead and Nathan Davies added extra pace in the later stages of the game.
The visitors finished the game in style when in the 90th minute Mason Godsall sent in a pin-point corner and Cam Davies rose to powerfully head home a third goal.
Hereford Pegasus suffered a 1-0 defeat on the road at Roman Glass courtesy of a late Josh Jenkins goal.
Meanwhile, Penybont United sent Herefordshire FA Women's League leaders Westfields crashing to their first defeat of the season on Sunday afternoon following a 3-1 victory at The Racecourse.
The Polecats opened the scoring after 13 minutes when Cathy Harris converted an inviting cross at the far post.
The hosts had to wait 18 minutes into the second half to double their lead when Harris converted another teasing cross.
The Polecats increased their advantage when Nia Parker converted a 73rd minute penalty after captain Gemma Bradford was brought down by a Westfields defender.
The visitors reduced the deficit after Chloe Rees-Rice scrambled the ball home from an 83rd minute.
