MATT PRESTON’S second half header saw Hereford FC come from behind to earn a second consecutive league win with a 2-1 scoreline at Curzon Ashton.
Isaac Sinclair had given the hosts an early lead before Tate Campbell levelled the score heading into the break.
Preston’s header put the Bulls in front at the start of the second half, and despite the best efforts of hosts Curzon, Paul Caddis’ side were able to hold on for three valuable points.
Hereford, who sat fourth in the table before kick-off, made a positive start to the game, with Kyle Howkins’ cross finding Andy Williams at the back post who sent his headed effort wide.
It was the home side, though, who opened the scoring on six minutes when Sinclair drove at the Bulls box before curling the ball into the right hand corner of the net from 25 yards out.
The Bulls looked to respond two minutes later when Alex Babos slid the ball across the six-yard box but a slight deflection took it into the path of Nash goalkeeper Bobby Jones.
The visitors found their equaliser on the stroke of half-time when Campbell fired a shot from the edge of the area towards goal following a corner, which took a deflection before nestling into the back of the net.
The turnaround was complete just three minutes into the second half when Yusifu Ceesay’s cross was powered into the bottom corner by the head of Preston, leaving goalkeeper Jones helpless.
Caddis’ side nearly added a third shortly after when Devon Matthews turned Ceesay’s threatening cross onto his own post before seeing the ball ricochet away from goal.
The Nash came close to equalising on 63 minutes after Luke Griffiths’ free-kick was flicked goalwards by Stefan Mols but a fine left-handed save by Chapman denied the midfielder.
Curzon Ashton thought they had levelled a minute later when Mols headed home Craig Mahon’s cross from close range, but the lineman’s flag was immediately raised for offside.
Fine footwork from Michael Afuye saw him present Sinclair with Curzon Ashton’s final clear cut chance of the match on 79 minutes but he could only find the gloves of Chapman.
It was Hereford’s fourth away victory of the season and maintained their unbeaten league record on the road.
