HEREFORD FC turned their home form around with a dominant performance and 3-0 win against Farsley Celtic.

Ahkeem Rose put the Bulls in front after 17 minutes before Yusifu Ceesay’s header doubled their advantage going into half-time.

Substitute Andy Williams then added a third in the second half to put the game out of sight and secure Hereford’s third league victory in four matches.

Farsley, fresh from a win over Peterborough Sports, had an early scare when Aurio Teixeira charged down goalkeeper Tom Wooster who was thankful to see his clearance land clear of his goal.

However, the hosts did take the lead 15 minutes later when Wooster failed to make contact with Matt Preston’s looping header following a corner, allowing Rose to bundle home from close range.

The visitors looked to respond immediately, with Ryan Watson’s long ball forward releasing DJ Campton-Sturridge down the right flank who saw his stinging shot from a tight angle saved by Aaron Chapman.

Paul Caddis’ side doubled their advantage in the 36th minute after fine work from Ryan Bartley saw him find Teixeira who crossed for Ceesay to power home via his head.

Hereford had an opportunity to add a third just after the break when Rose outmuscled Rudy Misambo to latch onto a long ball forward but he could only send his resulting effort wide.

The Villagers were close to reducing the deficit after Campton-Sturridge beat Bartley for pace before finding himself one-on-one with Chapman but his chip drifted narrowly wide.

However, Williams secured the victory by adding to the visitor’s woes on 74 minutes when he came off the bench to slot home Rose’s byline pullback from six yards out.

The Hereford-born striker almost had a second seven minutes later when he was found inside the box by Ceesay but his effort was blocked by the boot of Bailey Sloane.

Chay Tilt then had an opportunity to get on the scoresheet after he was spotted on the edge of the area by Tate Campbell but his shot was denied by defender Sam Fielding.

Farsley Celtic almost had a consolation two minutes from time when Campton-Sturridge was found on the edge of the area, but his effort sailed narrowly over the crossbar.

Caddis side march on with a visit to Chester next on their agenda on Saturday.
