HEREFORDSHIRE football star Jarrod Bown put the final nail into the coffin of former Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag.
Bowen scored the winner from the spot two minutes into stoppage time after a long VAR review for Matthijs de Ligt’s challenge on Danny Ings as West Ham beat United 2-1 on Sunday.
Referee David Coote took his time in studying the pitchside monitor before awarding the spot-kick, to the horror of United’s under-fire manager and his players.
“At the time I saw [Danny] Ings got kicked and I think they got kicked so I thought it wasn't a pen,” said Bowen afterwards.
“I had a feeling it might get given and then Cre [Somerville] had the ball and it was a waiting game.
“With penalties you have a routine you know where you're going. But when you're waiting you're thinking shall I go the other way?
“But I stuck with what I know and stepped up and wanted to dispatch and thankfully I did that.”
Less then 24 hours after Bowen struck the winning penalty it was announced that Ten Hag had been sacked as United boss.
