HEREFORD Pegasus Ladies took the lead twice before falling to a 5-2 defeat against Crusaders in their first home fixture of the season in the West Midlands Women's Regional League First Division (South).
The hosts opened the scoring in the 12 minutes when Harriet Adams was played through on goal and despite seeing her effort saved Cleo Tomkinson fired home the rebound from a narrow angle.
Crusaders were level five minutes later when they sliced through the Pegasus defence and Dani Selmes finished past goalkeeper Katie Wood.
The home team regained the lead when Abi Wilson was on hand to turn home the loose ball when a 20th minute corner.
The Solihull-based visitors were back on level terms in first-half stoppage-time when a penalty was converted by Selmes.
Crusaders took the lead six minutes after the interval following a quick break down their right flank before Anna Price finished past Wood after the Pegasus custodian had initially denied Keeley Davies.
The lead was doubled within a minute of the restart as Davies was set free on goal to score, before Crusaders completed the scoring in the 64th minute following an opportunistic effort by Hutchinson from nearly 30 yards.
The visitors concluded the match with ten players following a dismissal with four minutes remaining of normal time but it was too late to make an impact on the result.
Pegasus host Penybont United in the Herefordshire FA Women's County Cup on Sunday.
Hereford Pegasus men returned to winning ways in the Hellenic Premier Division with an emphatic 9-1 win against Malmesbury Victoria.
Isaac Cooper, Jordan Williamson and Harry Pitman all scored braces, while Harrison Iddles, Aleks Striunga and Will Dallaway also netted.
