HEREFORD Pegasus Ladies picked up their second league victory of their West Midlands Women's Regional League First Division (South) campaign following a hard-fought 4-1 verdict over Bromsgrove Sporting at the KGD Stadium.

The hosts broke the deadlock after 15 minutes when Harriet Adams' free-kick from nearly 30 yards out surprised the Sporting goalkeeper and nestled into the far corner of the net.

Sporting created a number of good opportunities after going behind but were unable to take advantage of them and found themselves trailing by a single goal at the interval.

The Rouslers were back on level terms seven minutes after the break when the Pegasus defence was caught out by a quickly taken throw and the ensuing shot found the net.

However, the Reds regained the lead after 65 minutes when Sam Baker's 20-yard drive was turned on to the crossbar by the visiting custodian and Emily Morgan reacted quickest to net.

Bromsgrove Sporting pushed forward for an equaliser in the closing stages to claim at least a share of the spoils but were caught on the break twice by their opponents.

Pegasus captain Scarlett Teague converted an 89th minute penalty after Cleo Tomkinson was brought down after breaking free into the area. #

Tomkinson then completed the scoring three minutes later when she was played through on goal to coolly slide the ball past the advancing Sporting custodian.

Pegasus will be looking to build upon an impressive result when they host Redditch United next Sunday afternoon at the KGD Stadium.

Meanwhile, Hereford Pegasus men suffered a 3-2 defeat at Corsham Town in the Hellenic Premier, despite Jordan Williamson scoring two penalties.
