HEREFORD boss Paul Caddis got the reaction he wanted after Hereford bounced back from their FA Trophy exit with a 3-0 win over Rushall Olympic.
Debut goals from Dylan Mitchell and Jaiden White were followed by a third from substitute Ahkeem Rose.
"It can't get much better can it, two debuts two goals, clean sheet,” said Caddis as his side sit in eight, but just six points off the National League North summit.
“It has been a stop-start week for us with a couple of games being off. It has been the perfect reaction, I’m most pleased with the clean sheet.
“Without being disrespectful I thought we should have scored more and been more comfortable in the game.
“We’re really pleased with the end product of what we produced today.
Teenager Mitchell on loan from Swindon Town struck to put Hereford into a 63rd minute lead before recent signing White, from Redditch United sealed the points.
“We’ve been looking for somebody like Jaiden (White) who gives you that bit of quality,” added Caddis.
“He will still get better, but I thought he was excellent.
"Dylan with his energy, he just plays the game like an experienced player, you can tell he's now at a decent level training every day with full-time players.
"There was one thing that we were told when we brought him in was that he doesn't get enough goals, that just depend on how you utilise and play him.
"We played him up there like two number eights with Alex Babos, who I thought was back to himself today and I thought he was excellent as well.”
Hereford start a hectic month at Needham Mark in Suffolk on Saturday before three days later visiting Darlington for their re-arranged match next Tuesday night (December 10).
“It’s hectic and not ideal, being a part-time football club with players who work full-time,” added Caddis.
“However, the rules state that you have to re-arrange games in a certain amount of time, so we’ve had to do that.
“That good thing is that we’ve got a chunkier squad at the moment, that could change in the next two, three, five or six days, whatever it is.
“Everyone will be utilised, going away to Needham Market then a three days later to the opposite side of the country to Darlington.
“We’re going to have to use everyone with players working, we might potentially miss a few through work issues.”
Hereford now have a goalkeeping decision to make with Aaron Chapman returning to fitness from injury, while Fleetwood Town loanee Thom Donaghy is first choice.
“Chapman is back and fit, Tom (Donaghy) has come in and done well,” added Caddis.
“At the moment Tom is playing, we will sit down and discuss as a staff where we go with Tom and I’ll speak with Fleetwood this week.
Meanwhile, experienced striker Andy Williams is currently out withy a hamstring strain which could leave him on the sidelines for a few weeks.
