LUCTONIANS and Hereford rugby clubs will contest the first all-Herefordshire final of the North Midlands Cup at Stourbridge on Sunday.
Hereford booked their place in the final after overcoming Dudley Kings-winford 28-10 last Saturday.
But the Wyesiders will be missing 10 first-team players for the final, which kicks-off at 3pm, because it clashes with a club tour to Antwerp.
Hereford skipper Ceiron Griffths, who will be among the absentees, said: “It’s a while since we last got to the North Midlands Cup final and it would have been a humdinger against Lucto-nians.” Hereford, who compete in Midlands 2 West, last won the county cup in 1992.
Former winners Luctonians will aim to finish their campaign on a high. Their director of rugby, Dave Thomas, said: “We’ve had a successful season in Midlands 1 and we’d like to end it with something tangible.” The North Midlands Cup final will be preceded, at 1pm, by the North Midlands Vase final between Ross-on-Wye and Cleobury Mortimer.
