Hereford 2nd 15 pts Luctonians 2nd 10 HEREFORD 2nd retained the Luctonians Floodlit Trophy with a thrilling victory over the hosts at Mortimer Park.
Luctonians opened the scoring after 10 minutes but Hereford hit back with a try from lock Ollie Skyrme after a strong run by centre Richard Rees.
Fly-half Dean Powell slotted over the conversion to give Hereford a four-point lead.
Astute kicking by Powell pinned Luctonians back after the break and Hereford hooker Rhys Davies forced his way over the line for Hereford’s second try.
Hereford led by nine points with half-an-hour remaining and almost sealed the win when centre Giles Scott was held up just short of the line.
Luctonians started to win more possession and got their reward with a converted try from a charge-down with 15 minutes left. But the Wyesiders clinched the win when Powell completed the scoring for Hereford with a late penalty.
