HEREFORDSHIRE skipper Chris Borough became only the second player to take a hat-trick for the county side in a Minor Counties Championship match.
But the Brockhampton all-rounder, who dismissed Jono Whitney, Andy Gray and Richard Oliver in successive balls in Shropshire’s first innings, found his efforts insufficient to prevent his side going down by eight wickets at Shifnal.
Herefordshire’s problems stemmed from a poor first innings batting display which saw only Henry Langford and Richard Hall, who each made 37, compile scores of any significance.
Langford, who hit nine fours, top-scored with 60 in the Herefordshire second innings but Shropshire had few problems in reaching their target before lunch on the third and final day.
