Wellington 5 Ludlow Town 2.
A BRACE each from Matt Williams and Aaron Morgan helped Wellington to victory in this FTL Futbol West Midlands League Premier Division derby.
The villagers went ahead after 10 minutes when Andy Price headed home a Will Perkins corner and Williams doubled the lead within eight minutes.
However, Ludlow fought back strongly and scored twice from defensive mistakes to level the scores before the interval.
Wellington had the better of the play in the second half and man-of-the-match Wayne McNeil was influential with his surging runs.
McNeil found Morgan on the edge of the Ludlow box and the young striker side-footed the ball home to put Wellington in front.
McNeil then provided a through-ball for Williams who increased the villagers’ lead with a good strike.
Wellington rounded off their win after a good move between Matt Wargen and Williams allowed Morgan to fire in his second goal in the 84th minute.
Wellington goalkeeper Marc Priday then pulled off a good save to stop the Shropshire side from adding to their tally.
