Pegasus Juniors 0 Hungerford Town 6 PEGASUS suffered their biggest defeat at Old School Lane to title-favourities Hungerford Town in the FTL Futbol Hellenic League Premier Division.
Peter Macklin, who scored a hat-trick, fired Hungerford ahead in the sixth minute after Pegasus had lost possession on the edge of their area.
Hungerford extended their advantage midway through the first half after they won a penalty when Lewis Jones fouled Macklin.
Goalkeeper James Morgan did superbly to parry Ian Concannon’s penalty-kick but the striker followed up to score from the rebound.
Hungerford increased their lead through Concannon in the 55th minute before Pegasus eventually forced a save from the visiting goalkeeper.
Substitute Rob Laurie combined with Ben Price and his shot was smothered by Hungerford’s Ben Hopcroft.
Pegasus started to play their best football of the afternoon and Adam Bendall shot inches over the crossbar after good work by Liam Jones and Laurie.
Macklin hit Hungerford’s fourth goal with a speculative shot through a ruck of players and he completed his hat-trick with a similar effort.
The visitors rounded off a woeful afternoon for Pegasus when John Cant bagged the sixth goal in stoppage-time.
