Greyhound 17 pts Bristol Aeroplane Company 12.

GREYHOUND were fast out of the traps against their Bristol opposition in High Bridge Jewellers Gloucester 2 and laid siege to the tryline for fully 10 minutes before Elliot Phillips crossed for a try which was converted by Pat Hill.

A superb passing movement between the backs enabled Phillips to go over for a second try, also converted by Hill, to send them into a 14-0 lead by half-time.

Greyhound lost momentum in the first part of the second period and allowed the visitors to gain a foothold in the game which resulted in the scoring of two tries, the second of which was converted to reduce the lead to two points.

Greyhound, however, regained the initiative close to the end of the game to land a penalty through Hill to secure the victory.

This Saturday will see Greyhound at home to Old Cryptians in EDF Cup action, but without the assistance of Matthew Gwynne who is departing to New Zealand for 12 months.
