Studley Ladies 2 Phoenix Ladies 1.
PHOENIX suffered a disappointing defeat at Studley in the First Qualifying Round of the FA Women’s Cup.
The Hereford side struggled against the hard-working hosts and fell behind when Emily Gilbert’s long back pass bounced over goalkeeper Lisa Francis.
Phoenix came out with purpose in the second half and played some decent football with chances falling for Gilbert, Emily Lovelock and Tash Merris.
Charlotte Criddle equalised with a 30-yard free-kick but Studley responded and regained the lead after a disputed penalty-kick was awarded.
Phoenix picked up their game but could not find an equaliser and they, ultimately, ran out of time.
Meanwhile, Pegasus Ladies also crashed out of the competition, losing 3-0 at home to Lichfield Diamonds.
