RUSS Spink captained his side to a narrow victory in Hereford Whitecross Squash Club’s Summer Team Tournament.
Spink’s C team, which won the trophy by a point, also consisted of Steve Hill, Jack Bishop, Dave Powell, Tanya Smythe and Colin Powell.
Team I captained by Chris Millington were second and Team H skippered by Graham Vanston finished in third spot.
A total of 62 people, of all ages, took part in the tournament and a raffle raised £116 towards junior squash coaching.
Meanwhile, a team from Hereford Leisure Centre secured a 5-4 win over visiting Whitecross in a hard-fought friendly.
Whitecross led 3-1 at the half-way stage before a quick pep talk from veteran John Lowe picked up the home side.
Hereford Leisure Centre finished the contest strongly, winning the last three matches to complete a narrow victory.
