WESTSIDE eased in 52-42 against Henley’s in their final West Midlands League Division 1 game of the season.
The result ensure that the city club would finish in third place in their first season in the league’s top flight.
With the first round fixture going in Westside's favour the Hereford based side were confident of a victory.
With a starting line-up of Debbie Bowdley GS, Jaydee Hunt GA, Gemma Bearcroft WA, Mel Hunt C, Sophie Wright WD, Shelley Hudson GD, Kelly Stevens GK, Westside took the lead and dominated the game with an eight-goal lead at the end of the first quarter.
Stevens and Hudson worked well in the defensive circle making numerous interceptions which the Westside shooters converted into goals.
Team changes were made each quarter but still the Hereford side dominated, proving too quick for Henley’s.
It was, by no means, Westside's best performance but a confident and convincing win saw them secure their third spot in the league. Player of the match went to Bowdley.
"Third place is a huge achievement for our first year in this division,” said coach Helen Bowden.
“The girls have had to work really hard, week after week, to put in such impressive performances and should be very proud of themselves individually and as a team.
“It has been a huge learning curve this season and we know what we need to do to improve our position next season.
“First place is within our sights."
