SIXTH Sense Angels secured the victory and league title by beating their nearest rivals Beaumonts 32-29 in an evenly-contested match in Divison 1 of the Herefordshire Netball League.
Both teams clearly wanted a win and the match became heated and quite physical at times.
Excellent shooting by all shooters kept the game closely contested until the final whistle which saw player-of-the-match awards going to Stacey Barker of Beaumonts and Sophie Wright of Angels.
Nightmares’ 53-37 defeat by Red Devils puts them at the foot of the table.
In a hard-fought game, there was some fine play by both teams but Devils just pulled away for the win.
Nightmares pushed to the end but could not seem to get the game to go their way with excellent shooting by Sarah Bushnell of Devils and strong play by Steph Snowzell in defence.
In their final match of the winter season, Luctonians could thank some good attacking play from Lauren Jaques and Jenny Shenke as they concluded a convincing 48-27 win over Dragons, whose Hannah Thomas took the player-of-the-match award.
