WELLINGTON Football Club’s historic HFA County Challenge Cup triumph was music to the ears of manager Derek Williams.
The villagers lifted the cup for the first time after a penalty shoot-out victory over Westfields at Edgar Street on Easter Monday. Wellington and Westfields battled out a 2-2 draw before the village club prevailed 3-2 in a shoot-out.
Wellington threw a post-match karaoke party for players, officials and supporters at their headquarters in the village before they headed back into Hereford.
Williams said: “I was awoken in the early hours of the morning by the players who were outside my house singing songs - it was a memorable night.”
