Herefordshire FA 1 Leicestershire & Rutland FA 1.
HEREFORDSHIRE FA and Leicestershire & Rutland played out an entertaining draw in the Midland Counties Under-16 Youth Championship at Woofferton.
However it was Herefordshire who had to battle back after falling behind after only four minutes when Declan Cox broke through the home defence to score. It could easily have been 2-0 but Jack Johnson missed a glorious chance to double the away side’s lead.
Herefordshire created numerous chances in the second half, with Joe Lemar thwarted twice by the legs of Leicestershire keeper Tom Wells and they had a Mark Davies effort cleared off the line.
The equaliser finally came though on 73 minutes, when Lemar headed down a free-kick for Brendan Hackett to crash home and grab a deserved point for his side.
