Heath Town 2 Wellington 1.
WELLINGTON came crashing back down to earth following the high of winning the HFA County Challenge Cup with a defeat at Heath Town in the FTL Futbol West Midlands League.
The visitors created some good chances in the first half, with Steve Smith and Morgan both seeing efforts flash wide of the post and James Morris headed straight at the goalkeeper following a Nick Panniers cross.
After a goalless first-half the deadlock was broken after Heath scored from a corner. But the best chance of the game fell to Matt Pugh but the striker put his effort over the bar with the goalkeeper stranded.
Heath went 2-0 up soon after but Andy Price pulled one back to spark a frantic ending, but it was too little too late.
Bromyard Town 2 Wellington 1.
BROMYARD came from a goal down to book their place in the final of the HFA Senior Floodlit Cup.
Andy Price gave Wellington the lead but Jason Beck hauled Town level in the first half of last Wednesday’s semi-final.
Bromyard hit the woodwork three times and Chris Allen added a second goal which will take the hosts to Edgar Street.
Bromyard will play the winners of the other semi-final between Westfields and holders Hereford United who meet at allpay.park on April 28.
Ledbury Town 5 Wednesfield 1.
DORIAN Colling netted a hat-trick as Ledbury Town continued their good run of form with a convincing victory over Wednesfield.
Scott Roberts and Sam Topham added the other goals for Ledbury, who have now won two games in a row to push themselves away from the FTL Futbol West Midlands League relegation zone.
Town boss Ben Symons now feels his side are one win away from cementing their place in the league next season.
Symons also praised new right-back Mark Edwards who only joined the club three weeks ago, but has already helped his new side to consecutive wins.
He said: “We have got the makings of a good side in the years to come. They’re a young set of lads and doing well.”
