THE top-two in the High Bridge Jewellers Gloucester 1 finished off their seasons with champions Tewkesbury running out 18-5 winners against runners-up Ross.
In an entertaining first half, Tewkesbury went 6-0 ahead after some Ross ill-discipline resulted in two well-taken penalties.
But the home side got back into the game before the break when Ali Hunter-Blair picked up a long clearance kick, and proceeded to run the ball back to score in the corner to make it 6-5.
The second half was full of graft for Ross but with no end product.
The Herefordshire side were made to pay when they conceded three penalties which were all converted.
The league winners sealed the win with a drop-goal by Tewkesbury’s outside half to make the final score 18-5. Tewkesbury’s win exacted revenge on Ross who handed them their only league defeat earlier in the season.
lLedbury ended their Midlands 4 South season in fourth place by crushing Old Edwardians 47-0 at Ross Road with tries from James Handley, Ariez Mehta, Greg Willis and two apiece for Josh Small and Jamie Williams.
