ROSS Rowing Club’s John Faulkner has gained a nationally-recognised coaching qualification.
He achieved the UK level Two coaching qualification during the club’s Easter camp and Discover Rowing Programme for new juniors.
The academy members were joined by 20 new young athletes who completed an intensive rowing course in just five days.
The week was rounded off with races and many of the new rowers are keen to join the Junior Academy.
The new starters were given certificates and medals.
Club Captain Ian Howell said: “It was a pleasure to be involved in inspiring young athletes to enjoy a new sport.”
He added: “The icing on the cake was, in the midst of this event, John Faulkner gaining his UK level Two coaching qualification.”
