DAN Gray won the final Spring event of the Kingstone High School Golf Society at Brampton GC.

Gray secured first place in the Mulligan Medal after a return of 35-17-18.

Moray Mackintosh, Luke Jones, Robbie Jones and Matthew Bevan were the divisional winners.

q The Herefordshire GC beat Sapey GC 5-3 in a hard-fought match at Wormsley.

Des Keohane, with 38 points, won the low handicap section of the seniors’ latest stableford competition.

Dennis Brown was the runner-up with 37 points.

Brian Read totalled 42 points to win the high handicap section, while Bill Mundell (41 points) was the runner-up.

q Eddie Powell totalled 39 points to win Division 1 of the Burghill GC Seniors’ Stableford.

Terry Bottomly was second with 37 points, while Chris Furber (34 points) was third.

Ken Shaw secured first place in Division 2, on a countback, from John Clark after both players carded 33 points.

Mike Tidmarsh, who also fired 33 points, finished third.

q Andrew Wilson triumphed in the single card section of Leominster GC’s Hopbine Running Stableford Easter Weekend.

Wilson was first, with 46 points, while Roger Barrington pipped Des Jones to second spot after both totalled 42 points.

Mark Lane, with 78, won the two card section from Shane Jones (76) and Paul Rouse (75).

Joss Ingram was the three card section winner after a return of 119.

Julian Morris (112) was second and third place went to Rod Garvey (111).

Sam Morris (157) topped the four-card section, while Greg Bridges (148) was second and Martin Powell (139), third.

Shane Jones won the Tom Bishop Cup after a return of 43 points.

Chris Makin took second spot on a countback from Andy Timmer after both players shot 40 points.

q Ross-on-Wye GC’s B team halved their home match against Droitwich Spa GC. The match finished three points each.

Ross Seniors maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a four points to three victory at Worcester Golf & Country Club.

q Ian Scott triumphed, with 34 points, in a past captains’ competition at Kington GC.

Mike Lloyd was second, with 33 points and Stan Arnold, third, also with 33 points.

Terry Inskip won the Seniors’ Winter League for the second year in succession.

Inskip’s tally of 232 points put him clear of second-placed Mike Richards (222).

Ken Canton finished in third spot with 210 points.

The club’s seniors maintained their good form with a four games to three win at Llandrindod GC.

q Terry Thomas carried off the top prize after a blanket finish in the 0-12 section of Belmont GC’s April Medal.

Thomas (81-12-69) was first, while Ed Sargeant (81-12-69) had to settle for second and Graham Smith (81-12-69), third.

Richard Parker topped the 13-28 section after a return of 78-15-63.

Kevin Powell (78-13-65) was second and third place went to Ian Montgomery (83-18-65).

James Tutty topped a stableford competition after shooting 44 points.

Jamie Roach (42 points) was second and Tony Quinn (40 points), third.

Angus Maclean was the winner of a seniors’ competition after firing 40 points.

Dennis Pritchard pipped Terry Thomas to second place after both players finished with 38 points.

q Herefordshire charity Ready Steady Win will be staging their 15th annual charity golf day at Ross-on-Wye GC on Monday, June 15.

The event is the main fund-rasing event in the year for Ready Steady Win.

The winning team will be presented with the Peter Bunker Memorial Golf Day Trophy.

Ready Steady Win awards bursaries of £75 to £1,000 to help the needs of the county’s young sportspeople.

The golf day starts with registration at 10am; with the sports bursaries to be presented at 6.45pm and a black-tie celebration dinner at 7.30pm.

The after-dinner speech will be made by Jo Gambi who entered the Guinness World Records for the fastest female ascent of the Seven Summits.

She was also the second British woman to climb Everest’s North Ridge.
