SUNDAY sees Hereford Motocross Club hold their opening meeting of 2009 at Walterstone, with many top riders in action from the Wessex/South Wales group including in-form Ryan James, James Brookes and Chris Rudd.

Unfortunately, some Hereford riders will be missing as they are competing in the second round of the National AMCA 2-Stroke series in Leicestershire.

Barry Goodman is currently in seventh and Ash Newton in ninth after the first round, with both expected to challenge for the top spots.

The series makes its way to Walterstone on August 9 alongside the AMCA Veterans Series in a double header, which features brothers Andy and Rob Prosser who have been part of the club for the majority of its 30 years.

The main round of the season, the Main AMCA MX1 and MX2 Championships, will be held at Walterstone in September.

The top AMCA riders will battle it out in the Herefordshire hillsides.

Racing starts at approx 10.30am on Sunday.
