JAMES Hine and captain Zahid Saeed fired Bromyard to a crushing 10-wicket win at Worcester in Division 1 of the Crusader Worcestershire County League.
Hine (5-14) and Saeed (5-21) shot out the hosts for just 35 in 17.2 overs at the Gordon Jones Memorial Ground.
Oliver Bailey (24 not out) and Ashley Bullock (10 not out) then wasted little time in steering the Herefordshire outfit to success the 12th over.
Colwall were involved in an exciting losing draw at Stourbridge in which the villagers fell nine runs short of their victory target.
Captain Mike King (4-63) and Ed Smith (3-19) took the bowling honours for Colwall who restricted Stourbridge to 201-8.
Smith (65), Gareth Sharp (34), King (22) and Pete Butler (19) kept Colwall in the hunt but they eventually closed on 193-7.
Monmouth secured their first victory of the season, edging out visiting Avoncroft by two wickets in the 49th over in a tight match in Division 2.
Andy McGuire (4-35) caused problems for Avoncroft who posted a respectable 156 all out in 48.2 overs after being in deep trouble early on.
Six Monmouth batsmen reached double figures but it needed an unbeaten 37 from man-of-the-match McGuire and 12 not out from Jon Roberts to seal the hosts’ win.
Sixteen-year-old Denholm Smith bagged a career-best 5-19 in Burghilll & Tillington’s 16-run win at Kidderminster Victoria in Division 3.
Adam Fenton top scored for Burghill with 52 in the visitors’ 165, while K Amos (6-38) shone with the ball for Kidderminster.
Smith, Mike Pledge (3-18) and Matt Biggs (2-44) got down to work to bowl out the home side for 149.
Ian Herbert struck an undefeated 69 in Wormelow’s 42-run home win over Chaddesley Corbett, also in Division 3.
D Perry returned outstanding figures of 7-30 to dismiss Wormelow for 148 at Kennel Field.But Chaddesley who were skittled out for 106 with Chris Parry snapping up 4-33.
Matt Morgan (107 not out) struck his maiden century for Canon Frome in their emphatic 174-run win at Barnards Green 3rd in Division 4 South.
