ROBBIE Jones won the first event of the summer season of the Kingstone High School Golf Society.
The large field took advantage of the Mulligan Medal format to post many strong scores.
Jones pipped his older brother Luke with an excellent nett 17.
Stewart Thomson, David Woodhouse and Matthew Bevan were the other divisional winners.

Dave Woodhouse maintained his consistent form to win the society’s May stableford.
Andy Wright, Matthew Bevan and Alex Gabrielides were the divisional winners.

q Alan Jones took top spot, with 39 points, in Division 1 of Burghill Valley GC’s stableford.
Steve Lloyd was second with 38 points and Lou Haines finished third with 37 points.
Carl Tasker carded 44 points to take first place in Division 2.
Jim Ferris came second with 39 points, while Charles McInnes took third spot with 38 points.
Eamon Croft secured first place in Division 3 with 37 points.
Stuart Randall was second with 35 points and Bill Harris finished third with 34 points.
Randall and Trevor Swindells triumphed in the seniors’ betterball pairs’ competition with 44 points.
Mike Buffey and Clive Shepherd were second, on a countback, from Brian Donaldson and Geof Kramer after both pairs fired 43 points.
q Leominster’s Terry Morgan teamed up with Worfield’s Alan Jones to finish third in the Society of Shropshire and Hereford GC Captains’ Spring Meeting at Belmont.
Sixty members took part in the event which was won by Hawkstone Park’s Alan Walker and Market Drayton’s Mike Kavanagh.
Result: 1 Alan Walker and Mike Kavanagh 67, 2 Gerald Smith and David Beaton 67,3 Terry Morgan and Alan Jones 69.
q Bryan Watkins carded 38 points to win Luctonians Golf Society’s trip to Kington.
Colin Smith was second with 35 points and third place went to Ben Amos with 34 points.
Chris Hartley (19 points) won the front 9 honour and Monty Lowe (19 points) took the back 9 prize.
Peter Lloyd finished nearest the pin and Ben Amos hit the longest drive.
q Paul Roberts, with 37 points, triumphed in the Tuesday stableford event at The Herefordshire GC.
Frank Hart, who also fired 37 points, was second and Ian McIntosh finished third with 36 points.
The Herefordshire GC suffered a 4½ to 3½ matches defeat at Ross GC in a seniors’ match.
q Tony Howells secured top spot, with a gross 76, in the scratch section of Ross-on-Wye GC’s Spring Scratch and Handicap medal.
Junior member Arthur Cartwright was the runner-up in the lowest gross category with a 77 medal round.
Another junior, Josh Adams, headed the handicap section with a nett 69.
Jeremy Walters, who also hit a nett 69, was second, while Daniel Gear and Michael Lawrence both achieved a nett 70.
Ross Seniors recorded an emphatic 6½ points to ½ home win over Broadway Seniors.
However, the Ross C team suffered a 5½ points to ½ defeat at Painswick.
q Stephen and Chris Makin fired 72-13-59 to clinch the Weston Cider Cup at Leominster GC.
Paul Creasey and Kevin Green (74-11-63) were second and third place went to Dan Davies and Sam Morris (76-12-64).
q The Kenchington brothers finished in first and third places at Cradoc GC’s Golf Union of Wales team qualifier.
John Kenchington won the qualifier with 39 points and his brother, Steve, was third after firing 38 points.
Yubaraj Garbuja was the runner-up with 39 points.
Cradoc went down by six matches to two in the first leg of the Boathouse Trophy at Brecon.
The overall result leaves Cradoc with a lot to do if they are to retain the trophy.
Wayne Gittoes and Gareth Powell won the Mid Wales Golf Association pairs’ event at Aberystwyth.
Cradoc Seniors tasted defeat for the first time this season when they lost by six matches to two in a friendly at Burghill Valley GC.
q R Arrowsmith clinched the Division 1 title in Leominster GC’s May Medal after shooting 78-11-67.
Kevin Green (79-9-70) was second and Joss Ingram (80-8-72), third.
Dilwyn James (90-18-72) topped the Division 2 section from second-placed Mike Green (90-17-73) and third-placed Brian Faulkner (88-14-74).
Norman Greener (97-28-69) won Division 3, on a countback, from Stephen Usher (95-26-69).
Jason Stacey was third after firing 92-20-72.
