HEREFORDSHIRE Under-13 put in a strong display against Greater Birmingham at Luctonians’ Mortimer Park headquarters, running in eight tries to secure a 46-15 win.
Will Meriman started the rout when he broke through the Birmingham forwards to go in under the posts, with Alex Lovell adding the conversion.
William England then set up Alastair Martin to cross the line, but the visitors then came back into the game with a soft try against the run of play.
Martin then notched his second when Ben Jones sent him over, and England scored the try of the match from just outside the 22, with Lovell’s conversion successful.
James Miles and Merriman crossed the whitewash either side of the interval to extend Herefordshire’s lead, but the visitors added their second try through their forwards.
Rupert Jones then scored from a scrum with Lovell converting, before Birmingham’s fly-half finished off a nice try. England, though, ended the scoring with a strong break through to the line.
