WELLLINGTON Football Club will be celebrating a memorable season at their presentation evening on Saturday.
The villagers finished sixth in the FTL Futbol West Midlands League Premier Division and won the HFA County Challenge Cup for the first time.
Wellington rounded off their league campaign with a 1-1 home draw last Saturday against Pelsall Villa who had two players sent off.
The villagers missed a host of chances but salvaged a point when Mike Craig fired in the equaliser two minutes before the interval.
Manager Derek Williams said: “It wasn’t the best of matches and we missed a lot of chances.
“But we have finished sixth in the league which equals our highest placing.”
Wellington collected a total of 69 points, including 21 wins, from 40 league matches.
The club are also celebrating their 3-2 victory over Hereford United in the HFA Giantkillers’ Under-18 Cup final.
Goals from Matt Reeve, Declan Clark and George Leyshon-James secured silverware for the under-18 team managed by Kevin Morgan and assistant Dave Anning.
Wellington Colts, guided by Martin and Richard Palmer, clinched the HFA Junior Cup with a comfortable 4-1 win over Hinton.
The presentation evening takes place at Wellington Village Hall.
