WENDY Lane and Pauline Webb carried off the top prize in the Ford Lady Greensomes at Leominster GC.

Lane and Webb took first place with 94-21-73.

Di Gibson and Bet Hinchliffe were second after firing (102-20-82), while third place went to Joan Hunt and Susie Teece (112-26-86).

q Ros Eaton fired 38 points to win the Silver Division of Herefordshire GC’s May Stableford in damp and windy conditions.

Despite hitting four birdies, Karren Darby had to settle for second place after collecting 37 points.

S Topley carded 35 points to top Bronze A, while E Goodchild (32 points) won Bronze B and P Gibbons (30 points) was second.

Herefordshire GC recorded a 3-1 home win over Leominster GC.

q Hereford Municipal GC lost in sudden-death to Thornbury in the Whitewebbs Trophy.

Christine Anning, Sharon Helps, Pam Williams, Lesley Turbutt and Jean Crum were beaten in the fourth extra-hole.

However, Municipal’s mixed foursomes recorded a 3½ to 1½ win over Malkins Bank in the Hawtree competition.

Shaun Chambers and Lesley Turbutt, Colin Morgan and Sharon Helps and Harry Magee and Pam Williams returned victories.

Steve Watkins and Chris Anning halved their match.

q Vicky Howells prevailed on the first extra hole to secure an exciting win for Burghill Valley against Raglan Parc in the Mail on Sunday competition.

The match had been halved at 2½ each when Howells held her nerve to give Burghill the win.

The Burghill team was Judi Clark, Sharon Helps, Vicky Howells, Rebecca Lloyd and Elizabeth Williams.

Sharon Helps, with 33 points, won the Division 1 section of the May Stableford.

Tilly Hare (28 points) was second and third place went to Christine Baldwin (27 points).

Jane Collins (34 points) won Division 2 from second-placed Tricia Clews (33 points) and third-placed Tina Lifely (30 points).

Mandy Haines topped Division 3 after shooting 35 points.

Sally Thomas (28 points) was second and Diane Haines (27 points), third.
