BISHOP of Hereford's Bluecoat School are the winners of the held over 2008 Jack Roberts Cup after a comfortable win over Queen Elizabeth High School in Bromyard at Burghill & Tillington.
Bishop's batted first and made an impressive 220-6 in their allotted overs. Sam Morris struck a rapid 79, including a number of sixes out of the ground.
He received good support from Matt Deem (59) and Joe Davies ( 50 not out).
For Bromyard, Greg Leighton took 2-16 off his 8 overs, L Jacobson 2-36 and N Yarnold 2-52.
In reply, Bromyard made 152 all out, Leighton top scoring with a well crafted 43.
Good support came from G Godsall (19), Nick Leighton (17 not out) and L Jacobson (14). For Bishop's, D Hills took 3-21 and M Pond 2-27.
Richard Wydenbach presented the cup to James Hope, captain of Bishop's.
The umpires were Alan Taylor and David James. Carole Roberts, Jack Roberts' widow, was present for much of the match.
