COUNTY crews achieved some notable successes at the Hereford Regatta on Bank Holiday Monday.
The weather remained fine for the annual event which started 150 years ago and was first reported in the Hereford Times.
Hereford Rowing Club are looking to change the date of the regatta next year.
“We are also investigating options to make the event more user friendly for the city too,” said club press officer Kay Parker.
“We want to attract high level crews from all over the UK to the fantastic stretch of water that we have.”
Hereford Rowing Club were represented with crews in each category.
There were victories for the club in the men's IM1 coxless pairs and the women's Vet C coxed 4.
Some noteworthy performances also came from the Hereford Cathedral School crews.
Parker said: “We were pleased that the day ran smoothly and the weather held up after last year. We are grateful to the local supporters who came along to cheer on the crews. But there is work to be done to put us on the map again after two dreadful years for weather.”
