HEREFORDSHIRE’S Sascha Kindred won two golds and two silvers at the International German Swimming Championships for the Disabled in Berlin last weekend.
Kindred picked up a gold medal in his classification of the 200 metres individual medley and silver in the multi-disability (MD) class.
The Leominster Kingfishers’ swimmer won gold in his classification in the 100 metres breaststroke and silver in his MD class.
MD medals are worked out by looking at how close the swimmers finish to the world record in their individual classes.
In the 200 metres individual medley, Kindred was awarded 960 points in a time of 2.45:65.
And, in the 100 metres breaststroke, Kindred collected 932 points in a time of 1.24:52.
Kindred and his fiancee Nyree Lewis are now preparing for next month’s Welsh Short Course Championships in Newport.
The competition doubles up as a qualifier for the World Short Course Championships in Rio, Brazil, in December.
“These are going to be tough races because British Swimming have set the hardest qualifying times,” said Kindred.
