BRAD Anderson showed his talents with a win in the expert class as the PAR Homes Ltd/ Bache’s Bargains evening motocross series got underway in damp conditions at Cwmythig Hill, near Rhayader.
Three-time series champion Anderson held off the challenge of New Zealander Scott Columb and GP rider James Noble to take all three races in the expert class on a track made slippery by intermittent drizzle.
Noble gained some revenge, however, with a win in the evening’s final race, the ‘dash for cash’.
Last year’s junior champion Luke Davies successfully moved up a section to take the senior title while Matt Burrows, who matched Davies’ performance of two wins and a second, took the junior class.
The tricky conditions made for some entertaining racing in the novice section for the 1,200-strong crowd.
But Steve Owen, who also scored two wins and asecond, took the title, with Spencer Eve picking up the top spot in the local beginners’ class.
The next race in the series is on June 17.
