BACK in October and November, we put a decent run together - especially at home.
But, of late, we have lost a few matches and since we resumed after the bad weather we have picked up one point from two matches.
I really feel, though, that we have deserved more than that and at least four points from the two games.
We had the better chances, by far, against Crewe and certainly more than matched Bury at Gigg Lane.
Again, the circumstances of the defeat up there were hard to take - a free-kick which was awarded very cheaply in my opinion and also in the opinion of their staff and even the man who was supposedly fouled.
It's hard to take then when the lad steps up, smacks the ball into the top corner of the net and you lose the game because of that decision.
My mantra for officials is that they should be absolutely sure before giving a decision. They must be certain that a foul has been committed and, if they are not certain, then they should not give it.
If they followed that line of thinking then there would be a lot more accurate decisions given.
Sometimes, though, it just appears to be guesswork so if they are not sure then just let play continue.
We have another away game on Saturday against a middle-of-the-table side - if you are in the middle of the table then you are not far from the play-offs, that's just the way it is this season.
We have had an imbalance in the fixture-list because of the number of away games we have played which currently outweigh the number of home games.
Hopefully, within the next half-dozen games, that will start to redress itself and we can pick up the right number of points to put us in a more stable league position.
A succession of home games brings, of course, its own sort of pressures but we have just got to get on with it - we have four games out of six at home now and we really need to start putting points on the board.
We are too close to the bottom of the table - I keep talking about decisions going against us and fortune going against us but we really need to get over that and make our own luck.
The two lads who have arrived from West Bromwich Albion are young and enthusiastic - one is a defender and one is a forward.
I have brought them in initially for a month to see what impact they might make.
We have a lot of games coming up and they will add to the numbers in the squad but, like anyone else, they have to compete for their place in the team.
I have seen both of them play and, coming from a big club like West Brom, they are both good players.
I hope they will bring qualities which will add to what we already have.
Paul Downing is the nephew of Keith Downing who will be well known to fans after spending several seasons here.
I don't know how much the two of them will have talked about the club but Paul is a young man making his way in the game and a great way for him to take the next step is to get a few first-team games under his belt.
If he can do that, at his age, then it will certainly improve his CV.
But the recruitment process goes on and I am still pursuing a number of options.
I shall hope to finalise a couple of things by the end of the week.
