HUNGARIAN goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi has been speaking about his loan spell at Hereford United.
Gulacsi, then 18, saved a penalty on his home debut for Hereford in their memorable 2-0 home win over Leeds United.
The 20-year-old Liverpool goalkeeper has just enjoyed a two-month loan spell at League 1 Tranmere Rovers.
Gulacsi played 18 times for Hereford in their League 1 relegation season between February and May 2009.
“At Tranmere I think we had a better team than we had at Hereford,” said Gulacsi.
“At Hereford it was difficult because I had much more to do there and the games were a bit like a training session because I had almost 20 shots to save in every game.
“It might sound a bit surprising but Tranmere was not a team where you would have a lot to do.
“I was involved in the whole game but maybe only had to make two or three saves in a game.”
He added: “At Hereford it was more about shot stopping and dealing with chances, chances, chances.
“But both were good experiences and I was able to learn from each one.”
The goalkeeper’s longterm ambition is to break into the Hungarian national team and Liverpool's first team.
