Wellington 0 Racing Club Warwick 2 aet WELLINGTON turned in a brave showing before making their exit from the Midland Floodlit Youth League Cup at the first round stage.
A string of fine saves by Wellington goalkeeper Tom Smith in the first 20 minutes prevented Warwick from making a flying start but Ben Fischer failed with two chances either side of the interval which could have given the home side the advantage.
Another superb save from Smith took the game into extra-time when a goal in each half of the added period finally ended Wellington's resistance.
Smith and Simon Rookledge both turned in excellent performances for the villagers.
