Pelsall Villa 0 Ledbury Town 1 LEDBURY finally gained their first West Midlands League Premier Division win of the season after a hard-working, determined team performance.

Pelsall dominated possession but central defenders Ashley Jones and Peter Boyle were in outstanding form while goalkeeper Alex Goode pulled off a string of fine saves.

Some fine interplay between Dan Herbert and Mark Brookes set up Lee Hooper for his first goal of the season five minutes before the interval. And Ledbury almost doubled their lead just after the break with a shot from Herbert which was smothered by home keeper Adam Jenkins.

After that, Ledbury were pegged back for long periods with Goode regularly in the action, but the visitors posed a threat on the counter-attack with Scott Mason and Scott Roberts both going close with powerful drives.

In the closing stages, Pelsall threw everything forward in a bid to grab something from the game with Goode even forced to deal with a couple of shots from his opposite number Jenkins. But Ledbury held on in spite of the heavy pressure to earn a morale-boosting win.
