HEREFORD rider Becki Powell has beaten off competition from all over the country to take the 16-and-under class at the 2006 Dressage Championships of Great Britain.
Becki and her pony Appledore Golden Beau, known as Boo, qualified for the championships at the Kyre Summer Dressage Festival earlier in the year.
Fourteen-year-old Becki, a pupil at Aylestone School, beat 21 other contestants from as far afield as Ireland and the Isle of Wight to take the title at the David Broome Centre at Crick.
The pairing, who are trained by Serena Pincus, also took third place in the Open Novice Championships, a class which featured 33 competitors.
