Westfields 3 Loughborough Town 1 WESTFIELDS achieved back-to-back Polymac Services Midland Alliance wins for the first time this season with a hard-working display.

Mark Davis had a shot brilliantly saved by goalkeeper Matt Nurse in the early stages but Westfields twice might have fallen behind when Chris Nurse got through on goal only to blaze over the bar with only keeper Jon Pugh to beat.

Fields, who beat Studley 2-0 the previous week, took the lead on 24 minutes when Mark Hibbard's perfectly flighted free-kick was headed in by Scott Jackson.

Davis then forced a fine save from Matt Nurse before extending the lead in the 42nd minute when he profited from some fine work by Jamie Cuss to net from close range.

Ashley Warner gave the visitors a confidence boost just before the interval with an acrobatic finish but Westfields continued to forge forward after the break and Davis headed narrowly wide from an Anthony Rivett cross.

Lukasz Jodba headed a Loughborough effort off the Westfields line and centre-backs Jackson and Jon Hill had to maintain their highest standards as the visitors rallied again.

But Westfields ended with a flourish when Derek Craddock sent Davis racing away down the right and the city side's leading scorer provided an accurate cross for Chris Jefferson to plant the ball wide of goalkeeper Nurse.
